Established in 2012 under the Texas Interlocal Cooperation Act, the TASB Benefits Cooperative and its team of friendly and experienced experts are here to help Texas school districts, municipalities, and other public entities provide meaningful benefits and insurance solutions.

Because the Cooperative conducts competitive provider procurement processes, members may save time and resources that would have been spent preparing and conducting a formal RFP.

Variety of Benefits and Insurance Solutions

We offer coverage for health, long-term care, and student accident/athletics, plus a range of voluntary products. We also offer administrative services with the dedicated support of an account executive so you can be certain that billing reconciliation, COBRA services, HSA/FSA accounts, remittance, and Section 125 Cafeteria Plans are handled efficiently and in compliance with all standards, regulations, and laws.

By signing the TASB Benefits Cooperative Interlocal Participation Agreement, members can access any or all programs and services we offer — tailored to support your workforce.

Member Governed

The Cooperative is administered by First Public, a fully licensed insurance agency and broker-dealer, and overseen by a board of directors composed of professionals from Texas local governments. This governance structure ensures that the Cooperative's activities are transparent and aligned with the interests of its members, and awards vendors who operate in compliance with all standards, regulations, and laws.
